The Universal Health Coverage Forum (UHC) 2017 was convened in Tokyo from December 12 to 15, 2017. The UHC mission aims to ensure that all people everywhere can receive appropriate promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative health services, at a cost they can afford, by 2030.

This Forum was hosted by the Government of Japan (Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) together with the World Bank Group, the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations and Dr. Jim Yong Kim, President of the World Bank were among the distinguished heads of international organizations in attendance.

In addition to the main forum, some 41 side events took place, along with an exhibition and events geared for the general public.

Congress Corporation supported the organizers for this UHC Forum 2017, as in 2015 when the "Universal Health Coverage in the New Development Era: Toward Building Resilient and Sustainable Health Systems" was convened in Tokyo.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced in his keynote address at the Forum that Japan will host the "Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit" in 2020.
A "Health for All" message was delivered at the event open to the general public.
