Congrès Inc. operates Webinar hosted by JNTO geared for ICCA members

On September 24, Congrès Inc. was in charge of operations for a webinar hosted by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) geared for members of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), entitled “Japan-Taiwan ICCA Seminar.”

This webinar project started when Kitty Wong, President of K&A International Co., Ltd. (Taiwan) and former president of the World PCO Alliance, for which Congrès Inc. serves as Secretary General, announced her candidacy for the ICCA Board of Directors and asked us for cooperation.

Through consultations with JNTO, we formulated the objectives for a webinar, i.e. to convey Ms. Wong’s passion for the MICE industry to ICCA members in Japan, particular her contributions to the MICE industry in Asia; to provide the latest information on Taiwan and report on its relatively effective results from measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19); as well as the status of preparations for the upcoming ICCA Congress in Kaohsiung that is aiming to offer a new type of hybrid convention experience. We progressed with preparations in collaboration with JNTO, and contacted ICCA members in Japan to encourage everyone to participate.

Lead time for this project was extremely short, with the webinar slated to take place within 2 weeks of the email from Ms. Wong, and only 1 week after the first call for participants was disseminated. Nevertheless, we were fortunate to have 25 participants from Japan and 6 from Taiwan at the webinar, which served as a forum for a valuable exchange of views.
It proved to be an opportunity through which we all reconfirmed the value of our MICE industry network, in Japan and globally.

As for the webinar operation itself, Congrès members who are involved in the MICE Innovation Society made excellent use of their operational knowhow and the webinar ran smoothly with no issues in connecting Japan and Taiwan.

Congrès Inc. intends to continue to put forth our best efforts going forward to contribute to the further development of the global MICE industry.
