Kayo Nomura, Congress Corporation’s Chief Director, International Conferences, was elected as Council Member of the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO). She is the first person from Asia in 20 years to be elected to the 11-member Council.

IAPCO’s membership is comprised of 117 organizations from 42 countries around the world. Congress Corporation has been a member since 1999 and is actively involved in IAPCO’s activities through working group participation, contributing meeting-related solutions and sharing information with fellow members worldwide.

In recognition, Nomura was nominated as a candidate for the Council, the executive body of IAPCO, and elected unanimously at the General Assembly convened in Dublin, Ireland on February 17. In her acceptance speech, Nomura expressed her aspirations to “give back and contribute more to the industry and broaden collaboration between IAPCO and Japan’s convention-related organizations.” Hereafter, Nomura will be involved primarily with the Council’s PR and strategic partnership activities.
